Without Question the V12 - DB9 Coupe from this era is the quintessential Sports - Grand Tourer, a magical carpet ride of a car that envelops its driver and passengers in a sumptuous leather lined cocoon, which remains serene, quiet. and composed, that is until it's driver calls upon the omnipotent 6 Litre V12 to move to the front of the pack. It is then that the silence is broken by the sweetly sonorous, unearthly sound of the car's naturally aspirated, turbine like V12 engine pulls commandingly towards its redline.
Yes, this is a virtually unmatchable and rare opportunity to own a very special, modern era, 'True Exotic', in what can safely be described as 'Immaculate Condition'. Yet all that said, this stunning British GT has been priced by the private owner/seller to find a spring buyer so that the next owner get a full driving season in before the cold winter winds start to blow once again. This is not a fire sale, and the seller is under no pressure to sell, but he is ready to move onto his next automotive object of desire, hence his very sensible asking price!
Please, we ask you to compare this unique opportunity against any other 'Exotic', available in the marketplace, on either side of the Canadian/USA Border, be they another comparable Aston Martin or a competitive brand, and we trust that you too will realize our 'Truly Rare Opportunity' comment is not an overstatement.
U.S. Buyers Please Note: although this is a Canadian Original, the car is fully compliant with U.S. Federal Safety Regulations and EPA Requirements/California Emission, and hence it can be rather easily imported to and registered in U.S. Market.
We at SportsCarLocate know this car quite well as we had carefully sourced the car for the current owner from its Original, extremely fastidious owner, John A., after a non-stop multi month search for the right DB9, for our very good client (the owner/seller) Shane M., back in February 2022.
Shane had thoroughly enjoyed the Bentley Continental Coupe we had early found for him, another mint, low mileage example and having fully experienced that fabulous piece of British Automotive Mastery, Shane sold the car to an associate and was now ready for his next conquest. As a Kiwi (New Zealander), a fellow member of the British Commonwealth of Nations and a wee bit of a James Bond enthusiast Shane, like many car enthusiasts, had a strong desire to own and drive another of Britain's very best, an Aston Martin.
Ownership worthy Aston Martins are a tough find in the pre-owned market, as although there are a surprising number of beaten down examples, finding one in virtually showroom condition, with a pristine past and importantly a well documented up to date Aston Martin Service, is near to impossible. If you take a good look at the available Aston Martins you too will see that the vast majority of Aston Martins quickly fall down the quality ladder, with deteriorating cosmetics due to neglect, and significant deferred maintenance issues, as they pass through the hands of multiple irresponsible owners,
This example is not one of those cars! Instead this is a very rare pick of the litter piece, a virtual One Owner car, treated with the respect and care most would only give to their most prized personal possession.
For John A., the original owner, this Aston Martin was a self given, pre-retirement, lifetime achievement award, a piece of automotive treasure that he treated, as if it was the Crown Jewels of England. John had purchased the car with the intension that this car to stay with him until his end, but as is often the case, real life got in the way, and when we first spoke back in early 2022 John was just getting released from the hospital after a serious health issue had been discovered. John's prognosis was not at all good. and John had decided then and there that it was time for him to release his treasured DB9 back to the market, so that his family wouldn't be stuck with having to sell it off on their own later.
At that time John provided a package of then current images, along with documented service records from Aston Martin Calgary, where he had first purchased the car and had the car religiously serviced throughout his 10 year ownership period. The car ticked all of our boxes and those of our client Shane, as this was the DB9 he had been determined to find. The deal to make a purchase was quickly consummated and the Aston was soon in Shane's garage.
Since taking over the car Shane has continued to treat it as John had done, garage kept, only driven on the best days, winter stored, driven sparingly and always serviced at Aston Martin Calgary. For Shane its another story of real life getting in the way of what was imagined when the car was purchased. Having driven the car a total of just over 500 km (300 miles) since his purchase Shane's life and interests have been redirected as he decided early this past year to move into retirement and live his life a little differently. First on Shane's must do retirement bucket list was to walk the Pacific Crest Trail, a wild walk through the mountains, forests and valleys that spans 4,265 kilometers (2,650 miles) from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington States.
You will currently find Shane back in Calgary after a year of hiking adventures on the Pacific Coast Trail and in New Zealand with 3,200 kilometers completed for the year.
The car is available for personal or professional viewing in Calgary and PPI's are welcome, but note that the car has just, a few miles earlier, been fully reviewed by Aston Martin Calgary in preparation for its sale, and freshly serviced too.
2011 Aston DB9 - 470HP - 48 Valve - 4 Cam - V12
Try as you might, you will not find any other DB9 from this desirable 2011+ era that comes close to matching this piece on overall quality, condition and price!
Simply gorgeous in Factory Original Morning Frost White on Bitter Chocolate Connolly Hides. The DB9 is undeniably one of the most eye catching automobiles from near any era, a stunningly beautiful combination of Aston Martin's illustrious 110 year heritage, yet a forward looking timeless design that confidently emotes that time honoured Pace & Grace that comes from its inclusion as one of the Greats of the uniquely British Automotive Industry.
The DB9 is without any doubt a True Exotic yet something far different than the many loud, brash, often ostentatious exotic competitors that scream out... Look At Me!
Hand built in that long held British Tradition, yet using the finest available materials and modern era technologies - these are not the long questioned Brit Cars of the bygone era. The DB9 is powered by a Cosworth Designed, Naturally Aspirated, Aluminum 48 Valve, 4 Cam, V12, which offers its pilot 470 horsepower and a copious quantity of readily available torque in combination with a magical, melodious exhaust note unmatched by near anything else on the road.
The DB9 makes use of a light, yet very stiff front mid-engine Aluminum & Composite VH Chassis with Aluminum Body Panels along with an interior of hand stitched, fine Connolly Leather and of course true Walnut Veneer Trim. This is a Rear Drive Platform with the engine placed well back in the chassis, which when combined with a rear placed 6 Speed ZF, Magnesium Paddle controlled, Limited Slip Transaxle allows for a perfect 50/50 front to rear chassis balance.
All combined, a set of World Class Specifications offering blistering performance capabilities including a 0-60 mph of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. Yes, today there are faster cars for sure, but none that provide the unique allure offered by this car's mix of pace, grace and price point!
Importantly, the car has a Pristine CarFax with no past damage or accident History!
Now you can of course, if you prefer, purchase the most recent AM equivalent a 2023 Aston Martin Vantage, which will get you to 60 mph 1 second quicker and take you to 200 mph instead of this car's 190 mph top speed, but you would need to be digging deep into your back pocket as the Canadian MSRP for this V12 is $397,660 CAD and a U.S. MSRP of $301,000 USD.
