The C63 AMG Edition 507 is a truly rare find today as production was limited and so few were actually produced, in fact just 282 Edition 507 Coupes were delivered into Canada by Mercedes over their 2 year production run. Rarer still is the reality that only 20 of those cars were wearing this car’s uniquely special ‘Designo’ Magno Platinum. This rarely seen option meant that these cars were swathed in a special factory ordered, Matte Finish something that only Mercedes was able to achieve back in the day. Hence, this is not a car that you are ever likely to see pass you by on the road!

This unique, limited production Edition 507 was, and continues to be, the of legend and lore 10 years after the last example left the factory floor, and there is good reason to believe that this End of Era Beast of a car will go down in near every knowing enthusiast’s log book as something that will remain so very special for the decades to come.

Built To Beat The World
Mercedes opened their performance parts cupboards to ensure that the Edition 507 would be next level potent, and a long step above, and well beyond the capabilities of it's market competition. Go fast parts were sourced from the Uber Potent Mercedes SLS cars and the earlier minimal production Black Series C63, each of with had carried massive MSRP that put them well beyond the reach of most enthusiast. In the end the Edition 507 was so much more than a one trick pony, this is a car that did it all extremely well... with 0-60, Quarter Mile, Top Speed, Handling and Braking prowess that could beat the best that the competition had to offer.
Times Change - Yet The Edition 507 Remains A Constant
So many cars out of the recent past are easy to forget to time and more often than not they loose their luster and quickly become ignored by automotive enthusiast focused elsewhere on acquiring the latest, not necessarily the greatest. That has not been the fate of the Edition 507 cars as the desire to possess one of these sonorous beasts has never waned.
Never inexpensive or cheap, but In it's own unique way the C63 AMG Edition 507 has since new been a bit of a bargain basement wonder, as right from day one it had the chops to stay with the pack including some of the world's best sports and exotic cars, all at a near laughably low MSRP when compared against the big boys!
Now 10 years on the 507 remains a very fast and extremely competent pure performance Coupe, with an unimaginable sound profile, offering simply phenomenal performance, all while remaining both handsome and magically engaging - a fun, fast and furious drive, like little else that has been introduced to the marketplace since. All that said the car is deceptively docile and easy to drive... that is until you light the wick! And trust me, you will want to Light The Wick often!

This Opportunity
This Edition 507 is on offer from it's private 'Adult' owner Rory, a long time enthusiasts, but not a guy that has actually owned too many car toys. Rory is a very busy professional with multiple Retail Businesses to attend to, and although he loves his 507, he has found that he just does hot have enough time to drive and fully enjoy the car as he had hoped.
Rory originally came to us at SportsCarLocate back in 2019 and shared his dream to acquire a fine example of this model. Rory has long been a sucker for fast fun, and when it comes to somewhat affordable fast fun, there was little to compare to the Edition 507.
We were fortunate to find this example at a Mercedes Dealership in Calgary Alberta, and even then Rory didn't have the time to fly and and drive the car home, so his adult son Robert was tasked with getting the car back to it's new home base safely.
A nice one it was... Virtually Original with no modifications, Canadian Car, One Owner, Garaged Kept, and Winter Stored, Mercedes Serviced from new, with just 26,000 km Original Miles on the odometer.
Rory has been a loving, respectful caretaker ever since, and the car has been kept out of the elements, always garaged, winter stored and regularly maintained at Mercedes Benz. Rory has used the car every summer season for the past 6 years, but has clearly driven it sparingly given that he has added just under 30,000 kilometers to the odometer over his ownership period.
Today this Edition 507 is a long way from the norm, with just under 54,000 km (approx. 33,500 original miles), while having spent far more of its life closeted away than it has in active service out on the road. That said the car is what we would describe as a near showroom piece, and importantly it is a car that has from day one remained Fully Sorted Mechanically, and regularly maintained. Rory's 507 remains capable of offering every measure of the mind altering performance these storied Beasts were known for when new, but it is also a car that has been driven and rightly displays some of the, to be expected, patina that comes with time and usage.
The car is currently with it's owner, garaged and hidden away from the elements, while it awaits your careful consideration. Rory has had the car for the past six years yet still he relishes each and every drive. He doesn't have the time to get it out on the open road often, but when he does his 507 takes him quickly (and I do mean quickly) back to his somewhat irresponsible youth.
This a car that not just demands your undivided attention, but a stallion of a car that screams for you to go ever faster, if for nothing else than for you and the world around you to hear it's glorious roar!

Our Thoughts
The Drive
The car starts and runs strong (a wee bit of an understatement), burns clean and is smoke free, idles without issue and revs without hesitation throughout the rev range. The gearbox shifts smoothly from gear to gear in all modes, with no evidence of unusual noise, slippage or hesitation.
The Power provided by the car's clearly healthy, Naturally Aspirated, Quad Cam V8 is instantly available and near locomotive like in nature... oh my, you are going to love this thing! And the sound that the car emits is addictive and other worldly.
The car tracks true and straight with no apparent tire wear issues to indicate misalignment problems. The suspension is firm as you would expect from any car of this era capable of an honest to goodness 175 mph with a high 3's to 60 mph along the way. That said the car is wonderfully balanced and surprisingly eager to eat any corner placed along its route. Braking is, not surprisingly, very impressive, no noises, not grabby and easy to modulate.
All said this is a car that we feel you can buy, drive and enjoy respectfully without much in the way of risk to your initial investment, yet it is a model that we believe will retain it's current value over the longer term, while holding a strong potential for future value appreciation. They simply do not make cars like this one anymore!
So if you are in the market for some very fast fun, take this opportunity to dig deeper and do a little research on the Edition 507. We think that the model and this car in particular deserves your serious consideration!
This is actually a very difficult to source example, in very desirable and uniquely rare Designo Magno Platinum, it has super low mileage, with all systems a go, yet priced not too far off the current bottom of the Edition 507 marketplace. Yes, you may come across the odd 507 for sale elsewhere from time to time, but look close, as they will either be pure collection grade, extreme value examples that can virtually never be driven, as their market value would be quickly minimized, or a lower grade, moderately priced example, with a questionable past, and often higher mileage, with deferred maintenance and/or in need of work.
